A "Have-a-Go" archery session is a great beginner-friendly introduction to the sport, offering an opportunity to try archery for the first time. These sessions allow you to shoot a few arrows at a short distance target, in a fun atmosphere.
We provide all the necessary equipment, along with instruction by qualified coaches and experienced archers. They are suitable for people of all ages and abilities - and are often held as part of local events.
2025 "Have-a-Go" Events:
25th August 2024
It was fantastic to host all our wonderful budding archers from Active Independence today! Some fabulous shooting by everyone and many "cakes baked" (shhh... we won't mention any burnt bits)
Active Independence are an amazing small charity
based in South Yorkshire, working primarily in Rotherham and Doncaster. They offer advice, training and advocacy to anyone encountering the many barriers facing Disabled people, and those who support
them. They also help people to improve their health and wellbeing through craft and activity sessions; cycling and trips.
27th August 2023
A great time was had by all when we hosted a mini 'have a go' for a group of disabled people all suffering from MS. Having recieved training in the basics of archery the group went on to play a game which required the bursting of balloons in set order. This was a change from the groups normal activity and soon became very competitive whith each team scoring highly.
CANTLEY PARK CARNIVAL - 30 MAY 2015
Our 'Have a Go' was part of the 'BIG Weekend' with the prime objective to introduce as many people as possible to the great sport of archery. The weather was kind to us and the Carnival was a big success and very well attended with over 150 people, young and old trying archery.
