Beginner's Courses
Perhaps you have never shot a bow before or maybe you have had a go at an activity day or while on holiday. Either way we welcome anybody who wants to try archery with a view to taking up the sport. Our qualified coaches will teach you the correct technique and ensure you know how to shoot safely
The Beginners Course is a basic requirement needed to join any archery club and is based upon the Archery GB Beginners Course recommendations.
The courses consist of four 3 hour sessions held on the dates and times shown and will be held indoors. You will be taught by qualified coaches and experienced archers.
We provide all the equipment needed for the course
To register a place on a Beginners Course please download the attached form (see below) and return it together with the appropriate fee to the address shown on the form. Or contact us via the contacts page.
Places are limited and allocated on a 'first come' basis. Pre booking is essential as we cannot accommodate people turning up on the day.
Minimum age is 14 years and all juniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
The course fee £75 and includes the use of all equipment and appropriate insurance.

Course 1: October 6th/13th/20th/27th FULLY BOOKED
Course 2: November 17th/24th December 1st/8th ONLY 3 PLACES REMAIN
2025
Course 3: February 2nd/9th/16th/23rd
Course 4: March 23rd/30th/ April 6th/13th
All sessions run from 13:00 - 16:00 (except when stated otherwise) and learners must complete all four sessions.

Having completed their course and recieved their certificates these new archers are waiting to see what Sants brings them for Christmas.

Another group of 'would be' archers have successfully completed our Beginners course and are on their way to fulfilling their ambitions. A number of them had no hesitation and joined the Club the same day!

"Both my wife and I have been looking for an activity that we could both compete in, archery was our choice. We have been told about the Harvester Archers training course so decided to give it a try. The welcome we recieved was fantastic and we felt right at home immeadiatly. The training was excellent and all technical and health and saftey issues were explained in full. Both of us are now members of the club and have bought our own equipment, other members are always on hand to share their expertise and to assist with further training and coaching.
