CORONATION DAY CELEBRATIONS - 7 MAY 2023

We were pleased to support the celebrations at the Barnby Dunn and Kirk Sandall Sports Association event. The weather was good and our 'have a go' was very well recieved, and gave a wide variety of people the oppourtunity to try a new sport - archery.

COMPETITION SUCCESS - 2019

At the recently held Yorkshire Championships we had great success.

Emily, Andy, Colin and Chris won the Team Trophy

Emily came 4th and Colin 3rd in the Recurve section.

This is a great culmination to our indoor season. Well done to all

COMPETITION SUCCESS - 2019

At the recent Savile Bowmen Double Portsmouth competition held on 3 February Emily won the Ladies Recurve trophy, for the second year. Colin came second in the Mens and together with Nigel they picked up the Team Trophy, also for the second year.

Well done to them all!

COMPETITION SUCCESS - 2019

Our success continues in 2019. At the Double Portsmouth competition held in Wakefield on 13 January Emily collected the Ladies Recurve trophy, Colin picked up the Mens Rcurve trophy with Nigel coming third. And all were joined by Chris to win the Team Recurve trophy.

For the 5th year consecutive year the team picked up the Team Trophy at the Audrey Lawrence Memorial competition held on the 2nd December. Success also in winning the Ladies Recuve and came 3rd in the Mens Recurve events.

At the Doncaster and Dictrict Archery Association competition held on 25 November memebrs came 2nd in both Mens and Ladies Recuve. And the team picked up the Vetrans Trophy, the 'Jack and Jill' Trophy together with the team Trophy.

Congratulations to Emily for taking the recurve title at the York Archers Double Portsmouth competition on 11 Novemenber. This is her third consecutive year as champion

Our 2018 season has started well with success at the Bridlington competition held on the 4 November.

Emily and Chris (r) both picked up medals and together with Colin (l) won the recurve team trophy.

Lets hope this is the start of a very successful season.

And so it continues. Competing in the Audrey Laurance Memorial tornament in December members of the club were succesful in winning the Team Trophy (for the forth year), gaining a first place in the Ladies Recurve and a second in the Gents Recurve.

BIG WEEKEND OPEN DAY - 18 JUNE

Once again we are running an open day event to raise awarness of Archery. This will run from 1.00pm - 4.00pm on SUNDAY 18 JUNE. The event is free and all equipment and instruction will be provided. No need to book, just pop along to our shooting range at BalbyCommunity Sports College.

We start 2017 by extending our winning run. Whilst we did not pick up any individual trophies at the Wakefield Archers Double Portsmouth comp in January we were succesful in winning the Team Recurve trophy - for the third year running!!

On the 19th she came over to Harvester Archers and following tuiton from Dedorah Whitehead, coach and membership secretary, she tried archery for the very first time. BIG WEEKEND - 5 JUNE 2016

Members fully enjoyed the Big Weekend event we held recently. We had a lot of vistors, many who had never tried archery before and all enjoyed themselves as well.

SUCCESS AT THE YORKSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP 2016:

We rounded off the indoor season with an excellent result at this years Yorkshire Championship. Andy picked up the mens recurve silver trophy with both Katie (recurve) and James (compound), who both only started shooting in September 2015, winning the novice archer awards. Congratulations to all.

MARCH 2016:

As part of the Club's ongiong development we applied to become a member of Archer GB's 'OnTarget' programme - and have been accepted!. This is great news as being a memebr of this programme will enable the Club to develop to a new level. Being a member will help us develop a strategy for growth for the coming years, develop and introduce training programmes and link us with other linke minded clubs across the UK. The result will be a stronger, healther Club and a recognised centre for archery in the area.

CHRISTMAS 2015:

COMPETITION SUCCESS:

At the Audrey Lawrence Memorial competition held on Sunday 6th December 2015 the Club was succesful in winning th Team Recurve Trophy - congratulations to Chris, Deborah and Alan. Deborah also won the Lady's Recurve trophy. Congratulations to all!!

Cometition Success:

At the recent Doncaster and District Archery Association indoor competition hosted by Chantry Bowmen of Rotherham on 29th November 2015 Deborah came 3rd in the Ladies Recurve and Chris won the Veterans Cup. Congratulations to them both.

At this years indoor competition at Bridlington Deborah came second in the Ladies Recurve event. Congratulations.

Unfortunatly we missed out on the Team Trophy by only 10 points!!!

Also at Bridlington a bitter sweet moment for Chris. He shot a 'Robin Hood' during the event which is great but expensive.

Clout Shoot - August 2015

We held our first clout shoot in August - a fun event for all club members. The team competition was won by Linda and Shelley. Congratulations to them and thanks to everyone who took part.

OPEN EVENT - JULY 2105

This was the first time we had run such an event and we pleased at the geat responce.With a mix of all ages experiancing two hours of archery prior to deciding to join a beginners course and develop their interest in archery further. Such was the standard that Paul managed to shoot a 'Robin Hood'!!!

"excellent experiance" "thoroughtly enjoyable" "very well organised and delivered" were some of the comments we recieved at the end of the session. 

Cantley Park Carnival - 30 May 2015

Members all ready to help visitors 'Have a Go' at archery. Over 150 people visited our display to experiance, many for the first time, archery and had a great day out.

HERE COMES SUMMER! April 2015:

On a cold but very fine day some members enjoy the first shoot outdoors. Having moved to new premises in December 2014 this is the first oppourtunity to experiance our outdoor shooting range. And the reaction - FANTASTIC!! The space availalble is amazing giving us the potential to realy develop archery on this site.

INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP MARCH 2015 :

On Sunday 22nd March club members competed in our Indoor Championships. Shooting a Portsmouth round all shot close to or improved their handicaps. Congratulations to the winner Mick, to second place Ian and to third place Bryan (all on the front row).

COMPETITION SUCCESS 4:

To end the indoor season for 2015 Andy shot a very successful Portsmouth round to became the Yorkshire Archery Association Mens Recurve Champion in March.

COMPETITION SUCCESS 3:

We sent a team to the York Archers Combined in February 2015 and whilst we did not win a team trophy (non awarded) Andy was again successful in winning the mens recurve title.

COMPETITION SECCESS 2:

Congratulations to Caroline, Andy, Chris and Brian for winning the Indoor Double Portsmouth team trophy at the competion organised by the Wakefield Archers in January 2015. Congratulations also to Andy (far right) for winning the individual men's recurve trophy.

COMPETITION SUCCESS:

In December 2014 members of the Club won both the individual men's recurve trophy and the team recurve trophy at the Double Worcester competition run by Chantry Archers. Congratulations to Kevin, Alan and Andy.

NEW VENUE:2014

Just before Christmas ther Club moved to new premises - Balby Community Sports College, Doncaster

These premises gives us a much larger indoor facility as well as access to a secure field for the outdoor season. As you can see the members realy got into the spirit of the season and christened the new venue with a very enjoyable fun shoot.

Coaching success:
